Our meetings have yet a rich history: in June 2002 the 1st Franco-Brazilian Colloquium on Philosophy of Education took place at UERJ under the title "The value of the master - equality and otherness in education", with the presence, amongst others, of Jacques Rancière and the launching of his book The Ignorant Schoolmaster. Second edition of the Colloquium, in November 2004, was organized under the theme "The becoming-master: between Deleuze and Education". Third edition made a tribute to french philosopher Michel Foucault, at the 80th year after his birthday in October 2006. The 4th Colloquium, in August 2008, ceased to have philosophers as the central theme and started to have a thematic. At that occasion it was "Philosophy, learning, experience". The 5th Colloquium, in September 2010, became International, and no longer Franco-Brazilian. Its thematic was "Becoming-child of philosophy: childhood of education". The 6th Colloquium, at August 2012, focused on the theme "To philosophize: learning and teaching". In in each of its first editions, the Colloquium gathered aroud five hundred participants.

From the seventh edition onwards the number grew year by year, until we welcomed more than a thousand participants simultaneously - always in a open and free of charge frame. In September 2014, the VII Colloquium proposed the theme "What can the school today in our America?", to interrogsate the scholl's potency - as environment, as institution, as form, space, time, as a world - in its cultural and political context.
In 2016, a 8th version of the Colloquium took place from October 4th to 7th, in the context of a State coup in Brazil, under the theme "Communities that weave between nosotros: stitching difference and educational act in a language yet to be written", wondering what new aesthetic paths teachers and learners had been able to outline and how these paths could offer resistance. Or rather: what counterpoints have we drawn between our educational wanderings and the eternal return of potency from what differs?
The last Colloquium, held from 1 to 5 October 2018 in a context of crisis at the public university and especially, the abandonment of UERJ, it proposed to discuss the theme "Philosophy and education in wandering: inventing school, childhoods of thinking". Seeking, in the midst of crises and under the perverse effects of the ways of exercising powers in our time, to engender a collective enunciation meeting based on errant, diffuse, childish, cartographic, nomadic logics.
