Project Philosophy in school life’s childhood, inserted in CAPES' Internationalization Project, announces the seminar "Philosophy and childhood: colaborate, improvise, include?" with professor Marina Santi (Università di Padova). The seminar will be held in italian, with translation to portuguese.
There will be 3 meetings at the wednesdays: october 30th, november the 6th and 13th. The meetings will happen from 9am to 12am and from 1:30pm to 4:30pm.

P.h.D students Daniel Gaivota e Neila Ruiz, participants on project Philosophy in school life’s childhood, were on a research seminar at the University of the Aegean, in whitch doctoral students of different universities that have a partnership with the Laboratory of Research on Practical Philosophy (L.R.P.Ph.).
Veracruz University of México received professor Walter Omar Kohan of the Childhood Studies department of UERJ to a conference about Paulo Freire and Education as a political act. Professor Walter Kohan just released a philosophical biography of the brazilian educator, in witch he thinks Freire's work through new political perspectives. The conference is a part of the fellowships firmed by the project Philosophy in school life’s childhood, inserted in CAPES' Internationalization Project - PrInt.
On September 2nd were hosted at State University of Rio de Janeiro (UERJ) and Municipal School Joaquim da Silva Peçanha, at Duque de Caxias, the day of workshops - “What is inside Philosophy? About materials and childhoods...”
By morning, at UERJ, professors Magda Carvalho, from the University of Açores, and Elena Theodoropoulou, from Aegean University, presented new perspectives concerning philosophical thinking and philosophy with children. The presentations were titled: 'Some-thing inside it'. Philosophy confronted with materials & vice versa. Like a scaffolding; and 'Some-one inside it'. Philosophy accompanied by childhood and viceversa. Like a child.
In the afternoon it was realized a great experience of philosophical thinking with children from two public schools with presence of our visiting professors and students signed to the day of workshops. Right after the experience, professor Magda Carvalho discussed with the shool teachers and the guests about the possibilities and new movements of philosophy in basic education - and paralelly about the movements that University need to make to follow up.
Last, professor Walter Kohan, from UERJ, released his book Paulo Freire Mais que Nunca (Paulo Freire, more than ever), presented by PhD student Edna Olimpia da Cunha and presence of students of Adult Basic Education.

Professor Walter Omar Kohan from Department of Childhood Studies, State University of Rio de Janeiro, took part in the International Meeting "Human Education in the 3 rd millennium" at the Tibetan Studies Library in Dharamsala, India. The meeting, hosted by the “Save Tibet” Foundation, brought together researchers from various universities of India, Australia, United States, United Kingdom, Russia and Mexico, and took place on July 7 and 8. The Dalai Lama participated in a morning of the Meeting and offered lunch for the guests, during which Prof. Walter offered him a shirt in honor of Mariele Franco.
